Home Sweet Home: Wings now 2-2 after defeating Hawks and Caps

Anyone else think it looks like Kronwall is trying to cop a feel on Williams? Sure this has nothing to do with Williams' power play goal that they are celebrating but my mind is usually in the gutter so get used to it bitches!

Fans were definitely concerned after the Detroit Red Wings dropped their first two games against the St. Louis Blues.

Things calmed down when the Red Wings won their home opener 3-2 against the Chicago Blackhawks thanks to the stellar play of Chris Osgood.

Learning of Johan Franzen's torn ACL could have easily sent us over the edge, considering he will be out for at least four months and...well...Red Wings fans are notorious for losing it over pretty much anything slightly negative.
The Red Wings win over the Washington Capitals Saturday night helped calm the nerves, once again, thanks to the play of Osgood, who came up with 22 saves.

Now that Mike Babcock has to once again play with line combinations, it will be interesting to see how the rest of the month plays out, with the Red Wings being on the road six of the next eight games. Their first big test may come during the first western Canada road trip, when the Wings face Vancouver, Edmonton and Calgary, which should feature back up goalie Jimmy Howard hopefully proving himself to be capable of being Osgood's doppelganger.

Tuesday's game at Buffalo will also prove to be a test. Not for the Red Wings, however, but for me. If anyone hasn't noticed, Keith Jones never blinks when staring at the camera while giving his "expert analysis" on Versus telecasts. I have tried to win many staring contests with this S.O.B. for the past couple of seasons. I'm finally going to win one this year, so help me! (Plus side, the Keith Jones staring contest did spawn a fun drinking game: blink before Keith, take a shot. By the second period, you're pretty gone but at least it makes the coverage on Versus more tolerable.)

Stay tuned for more coverage on Tuesday's match-up against the Buffalo Sabres...
