*Deep Breath* A Quick recap of Red Wings News

By: Erica Banas
  • What's old is now new again with the signings of past Red Wings Jason Williams and Todd Bertuzzi. The Bertuzzi signing, of course, puts the Red Wings over the cap. It will be very interesting to see how the line up shakes out at training camp, which begins September 13 at 9 am.

  • Ever wonder why Ken Holland and the boys in the front office signed the free agents that they did? George James Malik beautifully explains why and, in the process, demonstrates why he's one of the best in the arsenal of Red Wings bloggers on the web.

  • August 28 & 29 will serve as Hockeyfest for us Red Wing faithful who are absolutely dying for the 2009-10 season to start. Taking place at the Joe, expect current players and alumni to be in attendance, chances to win Red Wings merchandise and other exciting features for sure to provide a rip-roaring good time for young and old alike. I will be attending this event, so expect pictures in the near future.

  • After figuring out my season ticket plan with one of the very pleasant and helpful sales reps, I found out that single game tickets go on sale August 28.

  • Is Chris Chelios off to Russia and the KHL? Yes...No...Maybe so? Apparently clubs have been in contact with him but he still wants to stay close to the family. Oh Cheli...the tangled webs you weave.

  • Puck the Media helps breakdown the national TV schedule for every NHL team, with the Red Wings making a total of 22 appearances (five on NBC, nine on Versus, four on CBC and 14 on TSN/TSN2).
